The Assessor is the elected official who is responsible for all assessment activities. The office staff locates, describes and values all taxable property. This information is maintained on the assessment roll. In addition, our office processes requests for exemptions, address changes and value changes as well as handling inquiries for property identification.
Assessor Forms and Publications

Commonly requested Assessor forms are available on the Forms and Publications page of this website.

Most of the forms that we use are designed by the State Board of Equalization and used by all 58 counties.  In order to save taxpayer money, the California County Assessors developed a way for you to access all of those forms easily.  Simply click on the link below, click on the outline of Calaveras County in the state map when the window opens and choose the form that you want to complete.

Here's the link: http://www.capropeforms.org/

If you need another form, that is not on the forms website, click here for a list of choices:  http://assessor.calaverasgov.us/AssessorForms.aspx

2012 Assessment Practices Survey

 Assessment Practices Survey - April 30, 2012

The assessment practices survey program is one of the State's major efforts to promote uniformity, fairness, equity, and integrity in the assessment process. Under this program, the State Board of Equalization (BOE) periodically reviews every county assessor's office and publishes a report of its findings. These reports reflect the BOE's findings in its periodic surveys of the 58 county assessors' offices throughout the State.
